Quality territory

Taking tender care of the product quality is the guarantee of successful work and effective development of any production enterprise. Mikkogroup treats the aspect of quality as the standard requirement and, apart from it, as the integral system. Indeed, the uninterrupted process and effectiveness of the work carried out by end manufacturers much depend on the quality of labels and packages we supply to them.

The present-day filling and packaging lines operate at an ever increasing speed. Today, it becomes important to use the proper raw materials and meet every specific process requirement while printing a label or making a package, so that these products may be successfully applied on customers' production lines and reach their end consumers.

The whole production process, beginning from handling and storage of raw materials, including the printing and post-press printing processes, and ending by packaging of finished products, must be consistent with the quality control system certificated to conform to the ISO 9001:2000 International Standard requirements.

The quality control system is based on the policy of accounting and recording of the control data in the process of production – it is extremely important to provide the machines and workplaces with special measuring equipment to be able to trace any deviations with high precision. The managers of the Quality Control Department carry out control and modernization of the control processes, with the resources of other company departments being involved. The archives of the Quality Control Department contain all reference product samples, which are retrieved regularly at different production stages, which allows to determine parameters of the products supplied, using the bar-code data applied onto packages.

The Axima advanced climate-control system is installed at the production premises to ensure the optimum microclimate in all production areas, which is very important as far as paper and cardboard handling processes are concerned. As a result of any slightest temperature and moisture content variations the raw materials become unsuitable for further use. The multilayer packages minimize the impact on any climatic factors on the products in the process of their storage and delivery.

The quality control laboratory is provided with the most advanced testing equipment:

  • Gretag Macbeth Judge IIS 065Ä1.84 stationary viewing cabin intended for visual evaluation of colors. The cabin contains the standardized lighting source.
  • Kobb-test. Moisture absorption evaluation unit.
  • RUB-test. Unit intended for evaluation of paintwork coat wear resistance under the dry and wet conditions.
  • Spectra Eye spectrophotometer produced by Greatag Macbeth. Spectral device used to compare radiant power to be measured with the reference value.
  • PSC Quick-Check 200 verifier. Bar-code reading control device.
  • MettlerToledo analytical balance.
  • ROTRONIC hygroscope. Paper temperature and moisture measuring device.
  • IGTC1 proof-press machine. The machine is used to make Pantone formulas and determine ink layer thicknesses.
  • Glossmeter. Gloss measurement.
  • ðÍ meter. Measurement of ðÍ in solutions.
  • X-Rite densitometers.
  • Exiccator, Petri dish, salt solution for Robinson test, used to assess packaging material effects on product taste and odor.
